Introduction

The Master Data section contains Datasets, which are central to building reports, dashboards, and visualizations in AIV.

What is a Dataset?

A dataset is a collection of data—one or more columns from a single table or multiple tables—organized for use by business intelligence software. Datasets enable users to extract insights, generate reports, create charts, maps, and develop visualizations.

Source	JDBC, flat files, web services, NoSQL, and more
Purpose	Structured data for reports and dashboards
Access	Assigned by administrator; visible based on user privileges

The Dataset tab is accessed by clicking Dataset or by selecting the option next to the Dataset tab to open it in a new tab. Dataset and other Master Data sections are visible only if the logged-in user has the appropriate privileges. Contact your administrator if you cannot access these sections.
