Predefined Component

The Predefined tab in the Component Library on the Create Adhoc page provides access to a variety of components that have already been created and uploaded from BIRT reports. These components, stored in the Shared Resources section of AIV, can be directly added to your Adhoc Reports, enabling users to leverage existing report elements without recreating them from scratch.

The AIV application provides predefined components, which can be selected from the Predefined Library in the Components panel on the Create Adhoc page. These components include:

  • Cover Page
  • Performance Report

To add predefined components to an Adhoc Report, follow these steps:

  1. Drag and drop the required predefined component, in this case the Performance Report from the Component Library, onto an empty area, as shown below:

  2. You have now successfully inserted a Performance Report in your Ad-hoc Report.

  3. Select Landscape View from the Birt Template drop-down as shown:

  4. For this example, we are selecting the output format as HTML. Clicking the Run button opens the Parameters dialog box, where we are choosing the required Period and Cover Page Image from the available dropdown options (here, Period is set to Weekly and Cover Page Image is set to Paintings). After selecting the values, clicking the Send button opens the report results in a new browser tab.

  5. The following report will be generated in HTML.

  6. If you want to save the predefined component, click the save Save icon icon located at the top-right corner. This will open the following dialog box: Image

  7. You can enter a custom name and choose either Save As Reports / Template.

  8. If you want to change the settings of a component click on Setting Setting icon icon below Run which will open the following dialog box: Image

  9. Similarly, click the Delete Delete icon icon to remove the Predefined component.

  10. In this manner, you can add Predefined Components to your adhoc reports.
