Schedule Reports by Time-Once

The report will run once at the specific time on the day during an hour, day, week, month, or year mentioned by the user. By using this document user will know how to Schedule Reports using Once.

Prerequisites

For this example Demo Merge Report used.

Download merge_report.zip file from link given merge_report.zip

Upload Demo Merge Report.merge report from downloaded zip file to Merge Report Section. Refer this link to see how to upload files in AIV. Use same procedure to upload both of the files.

Steps to Schedule Merge Report with Once

  1. We will be using Demo Merge Report.merge in this example.

  2. There are two ways in which user can schedule the report.

    I. By right-clicking on desired report & select Edit from the context menu.

    II. By double clicking on desired report.

  3. By opening the Merge Report, from one of the methods mentioned above user will see the window as below:

  4. Go to Schedule tab & Select Once in Fequency as shown below:

  5. You can also specify how many times the report should be re-executed in case of failure and the interval from the drop-down menu shown in the figure. For instance, in our case, the report will be executed twice in case of failure within 5 minutes.

  6. User can add the date & time by selecting Calender icon as shown below:

  7. Click on Share in case you want to share the report with other Users/User Roles.

  8. Here the Visibility is kept Internal for this example.

  9. If you want your report to be approved before sending it to other users, then check the Approval Require.

  10. Send Reminder specifies how many reminders should be sent & After days specifies after how many days should the Reminder be sent again.

  11. To specify the output, go to the output tab as follows:-

  12. Enter the name by which you want to schedule the report in the Name text area. Also provide a suffix if required, it is optional.

  13. Select the format in which you want to generate the output from the drop-down menu. We have selected pdf for our example.

  14. You can also specify an event on the success/failure of the report which will trigger an event and execute all the waiting for event reports. Click here to know more in detail about Event Schedule.

Change Report Output path

  1. User can change the report output path by clicking on home icon near to path field. By default scheduled reports are saved in /Output/Temp/ as shown in below image:

  2. You can change this path by clicking on home icon just next to the Path. when you click on home icon, tree view of folders in report section will be displayed.

  3. Select folder in which you want to store report output and click on submit, you will see new path in path textbox and it will this selected report in selected folder.

Change Delivery Path

  1. You can also specify the delivery path on your computer where the reports will be downloaded/send email to other users as follows.

  2. Select the users and the roles from the drop-down menu.

  3. Enter your email address/addresses to which you want to send the report via email.

  4. Select a template from the drop-down, we have selected the Default template for our example.

Email Template

  1. Click on Save And Merge icon or Merge icon icon to schedule the report, it will redirect you to the another window of the browser & will show you the preview of the report.

  2. In case of any further help, the user can click on the Help icon icon to access the AIVHUB help documents.

  3. If the user is not satisfied and wants to cancel the schedule request, he can do this by clicking on the cancel button next to the merge icon or by clicking on Cancel icon icon next to the Help icon icon.

  4. The merge report is scheduled and the user can see the schedule request in the Request section of the AIV application. This section displays all the reports that have been completed, running, waiting for an event or scheduled. In case of report failure, the error is also displayed on this page.
